Classic Hoard Working
The stuff people fall for.
Rewind a few years and you’ll find a lot of info packed posts from me on the forums - in fact, about half of what I wrote about in the Adwords Black Book was stuff I shared freely on forums.
Why did I stop?
- One post I made became a full-blown info-product, swiped by some “guru” [who, BTW, has not been heard from since].
- Other posts - brilliant stuff - were ridiculed and chastised. Of course, I had the last laugh when these same people later paid me $197 for the stuff I’d given them for free, then they raved about it [ LESSON: People do NOT value anything you give them for free ]
- A big name marketer, who I really admired, ripped off another post and made it a part of his newsletter [ no - he didn’t give me credit ] - it’s pretty shocking to read your work, verbatim, and have someone like that taking credit for it.
These reasons and more are why I have to share this with you - it really plays on people’s egos. Because let’s face it - us Internet marketer’s are an unusual bunch, completely misunderstood by anyone who’s not doing what we are. So we CRAVE acknowledgment for the mad skills we have.
Never in the history of the planet has any group of professionals been more willing to spill their guts about what they’re doing to anyone who will listen.
And there are people ready and waiting to exploit that for their own benefit.
Now, I’m not saying that’s exactly what going on in this post by the poster himself - but you can bet the vultures are circling.
So here’s the play: hit people with an “us versus them” pre-sell. “They”, the poseur money-suckers versus “us”, the good and the innocent.
And “me”? I’m such a good guy, I will take a whole $50 - yes FIFTY DOLLARS - out of my pocket for the person who gives me the best tip.
Naturally, everybody wants acknowledgment for having “the best marketing tip” - the fifty dollars is a slight of hand trick - it’s not the money that’s the real motivator; it’s the desire for approval.
X
Hi Warriors,
It’s that time again. I wanna give someone $50.
Since one of the biggest problems people seem to have is filtering out the BS from the truth, and not knowing who to listen to - I’ll make it my normal “post your most useful tip for others to learn from” type deal.
I’ll leave the thread open until the weekend and then pick someone who’s posted in it to send $50 (via Paypal or beer button).
There are a lot of self-proclaimed gurus saying things which they’ve never done, and either pushing the ‘Death of X’ or ‘Secret Backdoor’ approaches to loosening your wallets, so if you want the $50, just post you most useful technique/tip/strategy that is no-cost and can generate either: signups, traffic, customers etc to a new online business.
If you’ve joined-in my threads before you’ll know I’m serious and I will pay up.
Regards,
A
Area 51
I want to do more of what I’m about to do for you - that’s the original idea behind the IXFiles.
Because my brain is ABSOLUTELY FRIED right now, I’m doing this because of some inner-freak drive that won’t stop.
Here’s what we’re going to dissect - a clever email pitch from Mike Long:
Hi X,
You need to see this brand new 3-minute video that
Mike Filsaime just put out:http://mikefilsaime.com/VIDEO-area-51-marketing.html
Just click play and it will go…
Here’s the scoop:
There are three big reasons why you’ll want to watch this
video is you’re serious about online marketing……I don’t want to put any pressure on you, but the biggest
reason is that the video it takes you to is ABOUT TO
GO AWAY FOREVER at around midnight tonight.
This is classic “Launch Formula” stuff -
They give you a little taste and then they take it away. They let you see “the inside”, and then they restrict access to it [unless, of course, you become a member of whatever is coming - and it sure sounds a lot like the IMXFiles, doesn’t it?]
But the thing is, most people won’t open this message or take the time to visit until the opportunity has passed.
This is a classic “take away”; it’s hits on a person’s desire for control. You cannot not want back in.
More than that, we also hit on the desire to be included - if the content here is good, people will surely talk about it {see Frank Kern’s “14 Million in 12 Hours” post on the WF. OK - it’s not Frank’s post, but you can bet the bank that Hemanus Maximus is well acquainted with Frank or Mike - it’s classic forum working.}
Now, with the “14 Million in 12 Hours” you have this “Hot Topic” that’s engaged people in discussion and now that it’s gained a critical mass, the video that’s being talked about has been “taken away”.
Naturally, people’s curiosity drives them to want to know what all the fuss is about - it worked quite well selling the Adwords Black Book too.
Giving people something then taking it away is a powerful move - car salesmen do it when they send people home with a new car. Pet salesmen do it by sending people home with a pet - same psychology.
It works - try it.

The IMXFiles
You’ve gained access -
An email has been sent to your inbox with a link leading to the ten pages excerpted from IMXFile One - it details how I’ve been banking some nice commission checks doing something anyone who can talk can do.
OK, maybe it’s not that easy but, trust me - when it comes to talking, I am no Alex Mandossian and that’s why I write more than I talk.
Anyway, in the IMXFiles we’re going to deliver tips and tricks and all that cool stuff - but we’re going to stay away from fads.
Smart marketing ideas never out of style -
The Guarantee
I could say “If you don’t make at least 10 times what you pay for the IMXFiles every month, I’ll give you a double your money-back guarantee” - but here’s the reality; if you don’t make your money back AND THEN SOME every month, then you’re just not applying what we’re sharing. [Besides that, why put the idea in your head you might only make 10-times your money back? - If you have any skills, now, you could easily do 100 to 1000 times that - it’s up to you.]
On the topic of guarantees, I don’t believe in them in most cases. Do you care to guess how many times I’ve been written by someone who’s been “Struck by lightning, had a stroke, had their wife clean out the house and the bank accounts in the middle of the night, etc, etc, etc, to justify asking for a refund that we both know is BS?”
Trust me, I’ve seen it all.
Because I believe 2/3 of refunders have the idea in their head they’ll refund before they buy. I don’t care for those people - they’re mooches, freeloaders, going no-where’s. They’re the 20% who cause 80% of the headaches and I don’t want them.
But I do I offer a guarantee because there’s the other third who a product just doesn’t jibe for. We offer a full refund guarantee on the first month of the IMXFiles - try it at the discount price and if you don’t like it, request your refund and cancel your subscription.
If you do like the IMXFiles but you still want to cancel your subscription, no problem there either.
You see, this is a relationship you and I are in now - treat me right, baby, and I’ll do good by you too - simply find a customer of X and ask them.

When I Was a Kid
When I was a kid, I drove my mom crazy.
“You’ve just always got to be different, don’t you?!”, she’d say.
Well, yes. It’s just what I am. I question everything. It’s my nature.
The problem is, people don’t sometimes know what to make of that. Most people like the predictable, the habitual, the “known”.
Other people – like you and me – we like the unpredictable, the fresh, the new – we like to push the edges of reality.
Why I Scare the Hell Out of Some People
I feel damn sorry for Mike Merz working to recruit JV partners for the IMXFiles.
Here’s why:
“They” don’t like me - I know “they” have a certain level of respect for me. I KNOW “they” talk about me in their circles – “they’d” be shocked to know how much of it gets back to me from people “they” think they can trust. And I know “they” have no idea what to make of X.
People have assumed I’m “anti-guru” – well, I’m not. What I am “anti” is what a lot of them stand for – what a lot of them represent in this marketplace.
I have always valued the friends in my life who will tell me the truth – especially when the truth hurts. That’s how you grow – not when you isolate yourself only with people who’ll feed your delusions.
Because just about anybody who’s anybody has been contacted to promote the IMXFiles, you are going to get to see who REALLY has balls out there by who promotes the IMXFiles (to be fair, there’s an exception or two who have prior commitments but the rest fall into exactly what I’m talking about here).
I know one guy who won’t promote (even though he loves my stuff), because promoting would mean getting on the bad side of someone I’ve been openly critical of.
It’s politics, you see.
I should post his address here and have you all send him gift wrapped boxes of silky pink panties.
Why?
Because we’re here to serve the needs of this market – not the ego needs of a few guys living off their laurels.
The reason I don’t like being compared to other marketer’s, in style, is this -
I have never referred to my customers, or subscribers, as losers, deadbeats, scumbags, or shitweasels - not even affectionately. If I did, I’d probably call you jackasses or fuckers, but you’d have to understand why first.
My customers ARE NOT losers, deadbeats, or scumbags – or young, naïve newbies as Rosalind Gardner claims. In fact, of “the gurus” I’d be willing to bet my average customer has the highest income on the Internet, bar none.
When I got into my spat with the ice queen, it was her reference to my customers that pissed me off the most. I don’t care that she didn’t like my report – the POINT of it was to generate controversy – but she crossed a line.
Some of these “big guys” really bag on their subscribers - and truth is - I understand the psychology of it and I understand why those customers go for it (and it’s not a healthy relationship).
Instead, I’ve reserved my bagging for those who’ve abused and misused their positions of power and leadership - those same people who’d be telling you about my products - if they had any integrity - instead of the other junk they piss on themselves to send you.
Of course, calling these guys out - that’s cost me money – but I’m willing to pay that price to maintain my own integrity. I know, I know – if I didn’t HAVE to be different and I’d just kiss a little ass now and then, I’d triple my income in this niche.
Do you get it? That’s not my objective.
And you know what, the stuff they say publicly is nothing compared to what they say about you in private, to each other. The truth is MANY of these guys could care less about you - you’re a paycheck – a pocket to suck clean - and nothing more.
Really, it’s shocking to hear.
The IMXFiles Team
You know some things about me, and you may or may not know much about the team of writer’s I’ve assembled for the IMXFiles.
Let me tell you this about them – they are very smart and talented people who I think have a lot to offer you. I know I’ve learned from each of them.
But equally important to me – they’re good people out to REALLY help people. If I’d gone for guys who’d just create a buzz with more well-known names, maybe the makeup of this group would be different.
In the end, I decided to work with people I like – not people I don’t know if I can trust.
I know what the IMXFiles is now – and I have a vision for what it will become. But, know this too – you and I are partners and what you want – not what I want – will determine what this ultimately becomes. I see the IMXFiles as an ongoing dialogue between me, the IMXFiles team – and you.
Mastermind X
The Mastermind X event this September 14-16 in Phoenix is going to be nothing but good fun and high octane info.
If you have questions about Mastermind X before Tuesday’s launch, enter your questions as comments to this post. Not all questions will be made public - if you wish to remain anonymous, post that in your question.
The response so far has been surprisingly . . . robust. With only 35 spots and HUNDREDS signed up on the “I want to attend list”, we have a good problem to have -
What does Mastermind X have to do with the IMXFiles . . . the IMXFiles will be a monthly extension of Mastermind X with contributions from the same core group {Mastermind X attendees will receive one year of the IMXFiles at no cost}.
Bottom line: What X can do on his own is not as great as what X can do with other sharp people involved.
If you have any interest in Mastermind X, check it out and sign up NOW - space is limited and seats will go on a first come, first in basis.
I’m also receiving a lot of email with this theme “When is IMXFiles launching?!”
Very, very soon.
Letter From The Editor
You don’t know me, but you will. I’ll probably be the next big thing. I’m the keeper of the content of the IMXFiles, an assistant of sorts, a glorified task master, really. (You think 5 men could run a business without a woman somewhere in the mix, cracking the whip? Yeah, I didn’t think so.) I get to read everything these 5 AMAZING top internet marketers put out and when they say they aren’t holding anything back, they mean it.
This is it. It doesn’t get any more real than this.
Chances are, you have hundreds of dollars each month tied up in subscriptions and membership sites that don’t do jack to improve your business or your lifestyle. If you want to throw money away, I’ll give you my paypal account and you can just send it directly to me. At least then you’d be putting some children through school and paying for a well-deserved pedicure.
The bottom line is this, I could literally take JUST the information in the IMXFiles FIRST newsletter (around 25 pages) and launch myself to success…and I will! You can too. Pull off your tinfoil hats. Your mind is about to be invaded with the education you’ve been waiting for.
Low Risk, High Reward Traffic
As a matter of fact, that is my pretty face -
Check out this video where I talk about “buyer traffic” and how recognizing - and targetting it - makes you a pay per click killer with “Low Rish, High Reward Traffic”.
The IMXFiles are Coming
You haven’t seen anything this big since the Beatles invaded America in the 60’s.
We planned to launch this thing on July 1, but we’re still getting everything together - quality is the bottom line (and making you wait doesn’t hurt to build the demand).
Expected launch date . . . ?
Soon.
