    Lame with a capital “L”.

What’s up with internet marketers acting like a bunch of self-absorbed, high school sophomores creating their first project for the public access channel?

    Earth to IM’rs:
The video marketing wheel does not need to be reinvented.

The success models already exist. Infomericals sell. QVC and the Home Shopping Network sell millions of dollars of goods every day. Can you imagine Dan Kennedy producing the crap we just saw from Dr. Mike Woo Ming, or the babbling stoner-dudes schtick from another recent IM video?

The basic rules of direct response marketing apply to all mediums.

You wouldn’t dare waste my time this self-indulgent crap in a direct mail package, on a 60 second radio spot, or with a 30 minute informercial — because those cost you money.

But, because you can slap a 3-minute video up on You-Tube for free… you’re now willing to throw all the DR rules out the window and waste my time.

But, do you know what else goes out that window when you waste my time with this crap?

    Your credibility.

Humor and comedy is a slippery slope for marketers. If you’re going to do it - it had better be both good, and original.

    This was neither.

If you want to be cute and creative - at least take a lesson from what we’ve already learned form the Super Bowl television commercials.

    Sock Puppets - suck.

    Always have… still do.

It’s great to hear from you Martin.

    Martin . . . who?

    I agree with martin.

Hmm…who was it that just recently said, “If Clickbank is your ultimate goal, you are not thinking big enough.”

I agree. Very poor video which makes me want to avoid any further messages or videos on that topic.

It’s great to get opinions, but critics are a dime a dozen while doers are few and far between.

I already know your story Jeremy -

If you think something’s lame, fair enough - if I had a problem with that your posts would have been deleted. But, if you have any real brainpower then you’ll say how to make it better.

Fact is . . . we’re talking about Dr. Mike - we’re not talking about you. And bad pub is better than no pub at all because at least the Doc has what you don’t - attention.

IF you had that attention, what would you DO to maintain interest, generate desire and make people want to take action?

Instead of bitching, show me something. You have my attention.

I refuse to get into the “IM” market as I feel it is on the edge of being a scam or at the very least full of hype and JV ‘cliques’.

Show you something? OK - I am the founder and now CTO of NuFone.net which is a 4 year old VoIP provider. We receive nearly 2,500 unique visitors per week, over 7% opt-in to our announcement list and almost a 3% overall paying customer conversion. Not spectacular, but using techniques from Perry Marshall, Keith Baxtor and Woody Maxim, I have began to increase our opt-in’s and customer conversions - even keeping customer loyality when we have technical problems…

Plus I have over dozen other websites doing AdSense and Affiliate/CPA offers….Skin care, various hobby related niches, supplements, diet pills, real estate, government grants and even a few other VoIP informational sites……

My first eBook - about aquarium’s - will be out here next month.

The next eBook will most likely be about Energy Conservation or something along those lines.

You cannot judge a person from one email and one blog comment, so please refrain from making blatantly uneducated guesses from such little information.

I agree with Jeremy here - I know few who generate up do millions in affiliate profit. Heck most of them don’t have the ‘attention’, and most of you probably never heard of them because they fly under the spotlight and do not operate in IM niche. One such significant example is Vinny Lisngham.

    just my two cents.
